Living in Australia, many commercial spice blends common in North America and Europe are hard to find, so I prepare my own mixes at home. These blends are usually just a combination of widely available spices, and making them yourself is fast, economical and allows you to tailor the flavour. I’ve previously shared blends for Cajun Seasoning, Pumpkin Pie Spice and Chai Masala; this Apple Pie Spice Mix is another simple staple to keep on hand. Packaged in a nice jar it also makes a lovely kitchen gift. Add a pinch to pies, crumbles, muffins and hot drinks for warm autumn flavour.
