Mint Slice Chocolate Bark Recipe for Homemade Candy Bars

Mint, chocolate, and bark are words that evoke the Christmas season, and combined they create a simple, indulgent holiday treat. This thinner, easier-to-make version of chocolate bark doesn’t require precision—just a few helpers and hungry hands to lick the bowl.

With only three ingredients, it comes together quickly and makes a festive addition to any holiday platter.

INGREDIENTS

400 g dark chocolate (such as Old Gold)
300 g mint chocolate biscuits (about 1½ packets)
Fresh spearmint leaves

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Break the chocolate into a large microwave-safe bowl. Heat on medium-high for 1 minute 30 seconds in a 1200-watt microwave, then remove and stir until smooth. Residual heat will finish melting any remaining pieces—avoid overheating the chocolate.
  2. Roughly break the mint chocolate biscuits and fold them into the melted chocolate until evenly combined.
  3. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spoon the chocolate mixture onto it, spreading to an even thickness. Scatter spearmint leaves across the surface for flavor and decoration. Chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to set.
  4. Once firm, break the sheet into irregular pieces to create the bark. It will fracture unevenly, which adds to its homemade charm.

Serve chilled for the best texture and minty crunch. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator until they’re gone.
