This homemade spiced apple cider mix is cozy, sweet, and packed with autumn flavor. Stir it into hot apple juice, prepared cider, or hot water for a comforting drink any time of year.

Cozy Homemade Apple Cider Mix
This apple cider mix is one of my favorite fall shortcuts. I keep a jar on hand so I can make a warm cup whenever I want without running to the store. It also makes a lovely, simple gift — just pack the mix in a jar with a ribbon and a small instruction card. The mix is easy to make and tastes like autumn in a cup.
Ingredients
You only need six pantry-friendly ingredients. Below are a few substitution ideas if you don’t have something on hand.
- 3 cups granulated sugar – balances the spices and adds sweetness.
- 1 cup light brown sugar – brings a caramel-like depth.
- ½ cup apple powder – gives the mix its apple flavor. If you can’t find apple powder, unsweetened instant apple drink mix works as a substitute.
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon – the backbone of cozy, warm flavor. Pumpkin pie spice can be used in a pinch.
- 3 tablespoons nutmeg – adds a warm, nutty note. Ground mace can substitute in equal amounts.
- 3 tablespoons allspice – rounds out the spice profile. If you don’t have allspice, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to approximate it.

- Stir thoroughly until the mixture is uniform and free of clumps.

Recipe Tip
- To make a single serving, stir 3–4 tablespoons of mix into 1 cup of hot liquid (apple juice, cider, water, or even orange juice for a twist).
- Blend the mix thoroughly so each scoop has an even balance of spices.
- If clumping occurs, pulse the mix in a food processor or whisk before storing.
