These healthy banana muffins are made with whole wheat flour, contain no refined sugar, and are dairy-free. They make a light, low-calorie breakfast or snack and are simple enough for everyday baking.

Naturally Sweetened Banana Muffins
This recipe uses a natural liquid sweetener—either honey or maple syrup. Both work well, though maple syrup imparts a distinct, rich flavor. Note that honey contains slightly more calories than maple syrup, so choose based on taste and preference.
The recipe is adapted from a Greek-yogurt muffin version: the yogurt was replaced with oil, baking powder was increased to help with rise, chocolate chips were omitted, and the oven temperature was lowered for gentler baking. The result is moist, tender muffins with plenty of banana flavor.
They’re kid-friendly and popular with toddlers, making them a great option for breakfasts, snacks, or lunchboxes.

Whole Wheat Banana Muffins
These muffins use 100% whole wheat flour, increasing fiber and nutrients compared with white flour. Whole wheat keeps you feeling fuller longer and is a healthier choice for everyday baking.
Healthy Banana Muffins with 3 Bananas
This recipe relies on ripe bananas for moisture, natural sweetness, and a soft crumb. Use bananas with freckled skins for the best flavor—the riper they are, the sweeter the muffins will be.
Health benefits of bananas include:
- High water content
- Low in fat and calories
- Good source of dietary fiber
- Contains vitamin B6, which supports metabolism and brain function
- Can support weight management when used in balanced meals
- High in potassium, which can help support healthy blood pressure
- Provides vitamin C
